What does the job entail?

Being a personal assistant is not just any job – it is shaped by the person you work with. It can involve everything from helping with practical daily tasks to accompanying someone to concerts, trips, or training sessions. Some may need support with physical tasks, while others may need help with structure and planning.

Here, the chemistry between you matters – you choose each other. The important thing is that you click, not how many titles you have on your CV.

GIL has coordinated personal assistance since 1989. The cooperative has roots in the Independent Living movement, which is based on the principle that those with disabilities know best how they want to live their lives. Typically, the person receiving assistance is the closest supervisor of the assistants, or a person with in-depth knowledge of the individual is appointed.

As a personal assistant, you support a person with a disability to live the life they want to live. To attract and retain competent and satisfied assistants, we invest in training and events.
