IES Enskede is a school for grades 4-9 with 920 students and 80 staff members. Our school is located 15 minutes from the city, close to buses and the subway.

We are currently recruiting for the position of Caretaker responsible for fire safety, security, and parts of the work environment from August 4, 2025, to October 10, 2025.

Please note that this position is a temporary contract.

Main responsibilities include:

• Maintaining the school's premises and playgrounds and ensuring that the school environment functions smoothly and effectively. This includes, for example, maintaining the school's inventory as well as assembling and installing new inventory, repairing and replacing broken items, painting, rearranging, and internal moves.
• Reporting issues to the landlord, following up on reports, and conducting rounds.
• Key and card management. Control of alarm and locking systems. Locking and unlocking buildings at various times.
• Collaborating with other school staff to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of the school.
• Orders and deliveries. Mail and freight handling. Various types of transportation.
• Some cleaning as needed.
• Contact and coordination with property managers, alarm companies, contractors, etc. Obtaining quotes. Keeping school management updated regarding work and maintenance.
• Responsibility for storage and warehouse spaces.
• Assisting with events and activities such as gatherings, school graduations, etc.

- On-site security to keep students and staff safe, including locking/unlocking the building at appropriate times.

- Tasks related to the work environment and systematic fire safety work, risk assessments, inspections, and safety rounds to create a safe and well-organized school environment.

Who are you?

• Handy, driven, and both independent and used to working with others.
• Have a background in construction, electrical work, or other maintenance.
• Have good insight into safety, work environment, and a keen eye for detail.
• Are used to working with children and young people, have a clear and pedagogical way of explaining what is right and wrong.

It is advantageous if you have basic environmental awareness and knowledge of work environment, fire safety, electrical safety, and EU regulations. In addition to practical tasks, an important part of the job is to build good relationships with students and teachers and to contribute to safety and well-being in the school.

Collective agreements are in place.

A criminal record extract from the police is required.
