Job Advertisement: Preschool Teacher at the Sámi School Board

The Sámi School Board is a government authority with its office located in Jåhkåmåhkke, including a school principal, controllers, HR, and caseworkers.

The Sámi school is an educational form equivalent to primary school, providing education from preschool to grade 6. The foundation of the teaching is based on Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. Additionally, the Sámi School Board has Sámi preschools in cooperation with the municipalities. The Sámi School Board has activities in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work across all departments of the preschool. We currently have three departments. As an employee in a pool position, it is essential that you are flexible and positive. You must be proficient in Sámi, both orally and in writing, and have knowledge of Sámi culture and traditions. You should have a good ability to be attentive to the needs, interests, and wishes of our children. You have a positive view of people and the ability to create good relationships, as well as the ability to prevent and resolve any conflicts with the children.

QUALIFICATIONS

Childcare education or equivalent education. We are looking for someone with documented good collaboration skills.
