The Workplace

The Individual and Family Care in Nordmaling Municipality has about 35 employees and has also been responsible for operations in Bjurholm Municipality since the beginning of the year. The operations are divided into five areas (VO), Children, Youth & Family, Adults, Open Care, Assistance & Function, and Management & Support.

We work based on our quality and management system "Huset" which is built on science and proven experience. Our operations are characterized by a strength-based approach where we focus on people's inherent resources and abilities. Through shared decision-making, we create conditions for clients to be active co-creators in their own change process.

Here you can read more and watch a film about our journey to develop our holistic model Huset; The development of a new and gender-integrated management system.

We Offer

As an employee of Nordmaling Municipality, you also have several benefits and offers. Read more about them on our website; Our Benefits.

The Role and Responsibilities

As one of two managers within IFO, you will play a central role in leading and developing the operations. You have personnel, work environment, operational, and financial responsibility within your area of responsibility, which is VO Children, Youth & Family and VO Open Care.

The merger with Bjurholm requires stable leadership to ensure a smooth transition and sustainable solutions. The tasks require a dynamic and solution-focused leadership as it encompasses the work areas of two municipalities that need to be managed.

Child and youth care has high costs, which requires a leader with the ability to streamline and optimize resources within the area. An increased focus on early interventions and reduced authority exercise within open care through adaptation to new legal requirements is needed. This is done through changed working methods in accordance with the new social services act.

Your tasks thus include among others;

  • leading, supporting, and developing employees and the team within your areas of responsibility, but also in the whole IFO.
  • continuing to work with and based on the developed quality and management system.
  • strategic planning and goal formulation for the operations, as well as ensuring that these are followed.
  • promoting good collaboration between various actors within and outside the municipality, such as trade union cooperation and collaboration with schools, health, and medical care.
  • identifying and implementing sustainable solutions to complex problems and creating a structure that enables the operations to achieve their goals.
  • ensuring structures, management, and work areas in connection with the merger with the operations in Bjurholm.
  • following up and evaluating the results of the operations, which is central to continuously improving our offering to citizens as well as the internal work environment efforts.

Your immediate supervisor is the social manager, and you are part of the care sector's management group together with other operational managers, a business developer, and MAS.

Your Profile

We are looking for an operations manager for Individual and Family Care (IFO) with high competence and experience. Our requirements are that you have a degree in social work (or another relevant degree at least at the basic level in higher education for performing such tasks within social services regarding children and youth). You also have experience as a leader in the public sector.

It is meritorious if you have higher education in leadership and quality management (or similar) as well as experience working within social child and youth care.

To succeed in the role, you need to have the following qualities and abilities;

  • Personal maturity: You have a stable and mature attitude, which helps you navigate challenging situations in a professional manner.
  • Leadership ability: Your leadership inspires and motivates others, and with your experience, you drive and develop the team.
  • Flexible: You are adaptable and can quickly shift focus in changing circumstances and new demands, which is crucial in social work and in a dynamic work environment.
  • Collaborative ability: You work well in teams and have the ability to build relationships and create good cooperation with both colleagues and other actors, both internally and externally.
  • Strategic thinking: You can see the long-term picture and develop strategies that benefit both the organization and its clients.
  • Structured: You have the ability to work in a structured manner and organize tasks effectively to ensure high quality in the operations.
  • Problem-solving analytical ability: You have an analytical ability that allows you to effectively identify, analyze, and solve problems.

If you feel that this profile fits you and want to be part of leading, developing, and contributing to our work within IFO, we look forward to your application!
