Our Operations

The Acute and Consult Psychiatry section consists of the adult psychiatry emergency department, which operates around the clock, a psychiatric acute care ward (PAVA) with 12 beds, and the PAM unit (psychiatric ambulance).

Patients come to the emergency department around the clock via self-referral/visit but also with police, ambulance, correctional services, and from other healthcare institutions.

Patients who need a shorter or longer hospital stay are admitted to the psychiatric acute care ward. The length of stay at PAVA is approximately 1 - 3 days; patients are then discharged or transferred to another psychiatric ward if they need a longer stay.

Here we work in teams, and you are responsible for a maximum of 6 patients together with the responsible nurse. You also collaborate with other professionals in the team on the ward with a shared overall responsibility for the patients.

We are now starting a new part of our operations. A telephone line for acute psychiatry that will be open every day of the week, around the clock. We are now looking for someone interested in working in a dynamic workplace where you rotate between the telephone line, the adult psychiatry emergency department, and the psychiatric acute care ward.

Your Mission

Your tasks include departmental and basic nursing work. As a new employee with us, you will start your employment at PAVA, where the work involves acute psychiatric nursing work for caregivers. After a while, you will be introduced to the emergency department and then to the telephone line, and you can then serve in all units. You will care for patients with a very varied care need together with other caregivers, nurses, doctors, and social workers. As a caregiver with us, you will work closely with patients where patient-centered care is the focus.

Your Qualifications & Competence

We are looking for you who are a trained caregiver or nursing assistant with proof of a protected professional title. You should have worked for at least 5 years in specialist psychiatric inpatient care and at least 1 year in acute psychiatric operations in the outpatient and inpatient wards. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You should be interested in acute psychiatric nursing, where you work daily to care for patients seeking acute help and always put the patient in focus. You treat patients, relatives, and colleagues with respect. As a person, you are positive, engaged, and meticulous. You are flexible, used to taking responsibility, and enjoy working at a varying pace. You have good prioritization skills and also contribute to a good working environment. You are interested in working in an organization with a broad area, where you will personally develop in your role. It is an advantage if you have training in MI (motivational interviewing), suicide prevention, and medical technical skills training.

We Offer

We offer a permanent full-time position. The position may involve shift work, day, evening, night depending on the needs of the operation. A probationary period may apply. Start date by agreement.
