Department of Ear, Nose, and Throat Diseases
We are Uppsala University Hospital – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer care to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se (http://akademiskafotoutstallning.se). Welcome with your application!
Our Operations
The preoperative department 101E belongs to the department of ear, nose, and throat diseases. We are located in building 101 and conduct our operations in new, fine premises. The department consists of a day surgery section and a preoperative section, which provides opportunities for a developing and varied everyday life.
The preoperative section is tasked with preparing patients for surgeries and examinations. Patients come from several different surgical departments, such as surgery, gynecology, ENT, and urology, which provides a wide variety of surgeries and treatments. The department's main patient flow consists of elective patients who will be operated on/treatment in the hospital's various operating departments, radiology, or outpatient clinics.
The day surgery section provides pre and postoperative care for patients within ear, nose, and throat surgery, plastic surgery, and jaw surgery. The patients you meet are both children and adults of all ages. There is a wide variety of procedures performed both under general anesthesia and local anesthesia. The department's primary goal is to deliver safe, well-prepared patients to the right operating department at the right time, as well as to provide good postoperative care. We have short hospital stays and work at a high pace at times.
Your Mission
We at the preoperative department 101E are now looking for two new colleagues who want to become an important part of our team. The department is an important part of the surgical chain, and you will collaborate closely with the surgical departments and operating rooms.
Your Qualifications
You are a licensed nurse. If you have a few years of experience as a nurse, it is an advantage but not a requirement.
Your Competence
We are looking for someone who has a flexible approach, is responsible, and finds high patient flows and short hospital stays to be an exciting and enjoyable challenge. You find it important to take responsibility for ensuring that your tasks are performed in a way that enhances patient safety. You can also, in brief meetings, see each patient's needs and make them feel safe and cared for. You work independently and in a structured manner and find it easy to collaborate both within your own workgroup and with our partners. As a colleague, you are positive and contribute to a good working environment. We also want you to have the ability to think innovatively and a desire to collectively develop the operations with the group.
We Offer
Permanent employment. Daytime, Monday to Friday, starting early in the morning. The employment may be preceded by a probationary period. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
We offer you a pleasant workgroup consisting of nurses and nursing assistants. At 101E, we have a high ceiling and work together with the patients in focus. The introduction is tailored to your previous experiences with continuous follow-up. The department offers internal lectures and regular CPR training.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
