Our Operations

At Akademiska sjukhuset, the Department of Psychiatry is organized into four sections, one of which is the Section for Affective Disorders. The section includes both inpatient care and several outpatient clinics that together are responsible for specialized psychiatric care for adults in Uppsala County. Various professions work in teams around the patients.

Within the section's outpatient care, patients with conditions such as bipolar disorder, severe depression, and complex personality and anxiety disorders are assessed and treated. The section also has a gender identity clinic and an eating disorders unit for adults. The medical team in the section consists of senior physicians, specialist physicians, residents, and junior doctors. The collaborative climate in the medical team is positive, where discussions about individual patient cases and medical questions are welcomed. There are excellent opportunities for personal and professional development through stimulating meetings with both patients and their relatives, as well as with colleagues from the same and other sections and departments, universities, and students. Your Mission

As a junior doctor in affective inpatient care, you will work closely with both the specialist physician and other staff on the ward, performing standard medical duties such as patient interviews for assessment and inpatient treatment, as well as medication follow-ups, prescription writing, and certificate writing. Contacts with relatives are also an important part of the patient's care on the ward.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with a broad and genuine interest in psychiatry. In your work, you always put the patient in focus. You have good communication and collaboration skills. As a person, you should be humble, responsible, curious, and meticulous. Previous experience in Psychiatry is an advantage. We Offer

We offer fixed-term positions for 6 months with the possibility of extension. The position is full-time. Start date by agreement. Prior to employment, a background check will be conducted.
