Do you want to help develop our new school library? Then take the chance and apply to us at Linnéskolan and Karl Johansskolan as we are now looking for a school librarian!

We are going to develop and expand our school library. You will be an important part of the planning and establishment of our new library. As a school librarian, you will be part of a team and have close collaboration with teachers. The main part of the position is based at Linnéskolan. In the role of school librarian with us, you will work towards higher goal fulfillment for our students. You will do this by leading and participating in educational activities in our library and in our classrooms. By applying your knowledge of reading, language development, information retrieval, and source criticism, you will complement our teachers' subject knowledge and subject didactic competence.

In addition, the following tasks are included in your assignment:

Acquisition, weeding, media planning, and classification work.
Strengthening students' language skills and digital competence.
Participation/driving of reading promotion projects.
Teaching in information retrieval/management and source criticism.
Training and mentoring school leadership and educational staff.
Organizing cultural activities.
Working for digital and traditional reading comprehension.
Teaching in MIK (media and information literacy).

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree as a librarian 180 credits, or a bachelor's degree 180 credits with 90 credits in the main subject of library and information science. We would prefer that you have previous experience working as a school librarian or other educational work within schools.

You have a good knowledge and familiarity with the school's governing documents as well as pedagogy and learning. You have good digital competence and at the same time a high media and information literacy. Furthermore, you have knowledge of compensatory aids and their function in acquiring and maintaining knowledge. As a person, you are creative, easy to collaborate with, but can also drive things on your own. Of course, you are someone who enjoys working with children and young people.
