Drottning Blanka's Gymnasium in Lund started in 2011 and offers vocational and university preparatory education.

We are a school of about 460 students and 40 employees. Our school is located in the heart of knowledge – Lund. Centrally located on Skomakaregatan. Here you are very close to both commuting opportunities and vibrant city life. We are a personal and creative school where responsibility and commitment are a given with the student in focus. At our school in Lund, we have the Aesthetic Program, Visual Arts (Design and Interior or Graphic Design and Advertising), Craft Program (Hair and Makeup Stylist), Economic Program with a focus on economics, and Social Science Program with a focus on Uniform and Behavior. The school employs full-time mentors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES;

Your main area will be to be responsible for building up our library and its integration into our operations.

This includes the usual tasks in a school library such as:

• collaborating with teachers on various projects
• teaching in classrooms about information retrieval and source criticism
• promoting reading in various ways, e.g., by visiting classes and giving book recommendations
• being involved in, or independently driving, various projects, such as a book club as time allows
• your work also includes purchasing and managing media and teaching materials together with other staff. This means that you will distribute teaching materials to all students at the beginning of each academic year and then collect them at the end of the school year.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is nearing completion or has completed a librarian education. You have experience in library work, preferably specifically within school libraries. We also consider it an advantage if you have experience in other work outside of school or library-related fields. You have good computer skills and enjoy learning new technology and utilizing its possibilities. You like to manage and plan your daily work but must also be flexible and enjoy facing unexpected challenges that arise. Periodically, for example, at the start and end of the academic year, we have busy periods and the pace of work can be higher, which may mean a bit more working hours then. Since the job involves a lot of contact with teachers and students, we believe you need to be outgoing and enjoy the social aspect to thrive in your role. You are solution-focused and have a good ability to collaborate and communicate and enjoy testing new paths. It is important that you feel equally comfortable in the role of collaborator as you do in initiating and more independently driving various projects. Experience with WELIB is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and experience.
