The libraries in Bjuv municipality are open meeting places for people of all ages, social, ethnic, or other affiliations, and should provide everyone equal access to the library's resources. According to our mission, we prioritize reading promotion, digital participation, and being a meeting place. All libraries have program activities. The libraries in Bjuv consist of the main library and two branch libraries. There are 10 people working within the public library operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The libraries in Bjuv are looking for an engaged librarian with an interest in adult literature! We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our team and contribute to developing and strengthening our library. The position involves working with media management in the adult department and providing information services to our visitors in external service. The job includes working outwardly with reading promotion and building networks. You will collaborate with other staff at the libraries as well as with other units within the municipality. You will also participate in ongoing projects at the libraries. It may also involve being part of planning and implementing program activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in library and information science or equivalent. Experience in reading promotion work and good knowledge of primarily adult literature is an advantage. You have a good sense of service, enjoy meeting visitors with different needs, and have the ability to work both independently and in a team. A driver's license is an advantage but not a requirement. The libraries in Bjuv are part of the collaboration Library Family Helsingborg. The position is a temporary position at 40% until December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension into 2026. Work in the evenings and weekends may occur. Start date is according to agreement. Interviews and selection will take place continuously during the recruitment period. For positions within the Culture and Leisure Administration, a valid extract from the police criminal record must be presented or submitted before employment. Please note that it may take time to obtain the extract, so order it in good time to avoid delays in the recruitment process.
