Field of Medicine, Dermatology, and Rheumatology
We are Uppsala University Hospital – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer services to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se (http://akademiskafotoutstallning.se). Welcome with your application!
Our Operations
We build our operations on collaboration, trust, and endurance. We belong to the Rheumatology Section, which is part of the field of Medicine, Dermatology, and Rheumatology. In rheumatology, there are over 80 diagnoses where the common denominator is inflammation.
Our ward 100B1 has 7 beds, and here we care for patients who need inpatient care within three medical specialties. Primarily, we meet patients with rheumatic conditions where the immune system incorrectly attacks the body, affecting one or more organs, from CNS impact to impaired function in the lungs, kidneys, and muscles, among others. Endocrine and diabetes patients with pituitary and adrenal-related diseases, as well as hereditary metabolic conditions that disturb hormone production and/or metabolism, including newly diagnosed diabetes, also come here. A third patient group consists of those with various types of severe skin diseases that can result in complex wounds or significant skin rashes, where we provide NVH - National Highly Specialized Care as one of five hospitals in Sweden.
Your Mission
We value competence and continuously develop our knowledge. We primarily work with investigation/diagnosis and maintenance treatment for our patients. The work consists of seeing the whole patient with in-depth history and status, clinical assessments where we work symptom-based in nursing care. We carry out sampling, preparations for examinations, and administer regular maintenance treatments in the form of biological infusions.
We strive to continuously improve the ward with a focus on patient safety and work environment, where you contribute your thoughts and ideas for improvement. We have scheduled training days where you study and observe in areas within your profession that benefit our operations, and actively participate in recurring planning and lecture days.
If you are newly graduated, you will participate in KUÅ – clinical development year, for 20% of your working time. If you have worked for a few years, there are further training opportunities in areas such as rheumatology, rheumatological pharmacotherapy, diabetes care, motivational interviewing, and clinical wound treatment.
Your introduction is individually tailored. During the introduction, you will work with several different supervisors, both to see different working methods and to naturally get to know your colleagues. You will have follow-up conversations with your immediate manager and the training coordinator during and after the introduction.
Your Qualifications
We meet people with commitment, respect, and personal interest. We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse who enjoys providing high-quality care where active employee participation is a given. We are a small team where there is close cooperation among us, and we dare to ask and help each other. You should value good communication in the team and flexibility during the work shift to distribute the workload. The fact that many of our patients are recurring allows for the opportunity to establish a closer relationship with patients. Therefore, you should enjoy working in a smaller staff group and with the medical and recurring patient group.
We Offer
We offer you as a licensed nurse a permanent position of 75-100%. An inpatient care supplement of 2000 SEK is received in addition to the base salary. Interviews and appointments for the position are ongoing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
