Our 1800 employees work with close care and health in Uppsala County. We offer a wide range of services within primary care. Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own health centers or within habilitation, and we provide advice over the phone via 1177. Education, research, and development are important to us, as we adapt our offerings based on the needs of the residents. We already offer mobile teams, video visits, and smart e-services.

We are now looking for a resident physician in general medicine to be placed at Gimo Health Center with branches!

If your goal is to become a specialist in general medicine, you are welcome to receive your training with a home placement at Gimo Health Center with branches in Alunda and Österbybruk. We offer a full-time position starting by agreement.

In addition to your individual development plan, we also have regular training days for skills development. This allows you to be part of a large network of knowledgeable colleagues.

Your mission

With us, you will work closely with all professions at the health center. Your tasks will consist of outpatient work with varied tasks as well as interventions in nursing homes and child health centers. In the position of resident physician within Region Uppsala, it is included to serve at our emergency clinics and standby clinics.

The residency program includes supervision, reading time every week, seminars, and courses. The main service is performed at the health center that employs you while side training is done at the Academic Hospital, Enköping Hospital, private units, and partially at other counties if desired. The content of the training is planned individually in consultation with the supervisor and study director.

Your competence

We are looking for someone with a Swedish medical license who has a solid interest in developing within general medicine. You possess a good ability to communicate in Swedish, both spoken and written, with Swedish C1 as a requirement. It is beneficial if you have good knowledge of the Swedish healthcare system and see good communication as one of your most important tools in patient interactions. Furthermore, you have a desire to develop the operations together with other employees at the health center. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Our operations

Gimo Health Center with branches in Alunda and Österbybruk has about 12,000 registered patients and approximately 60 employees. We have a strong interest in education and research, especially for our own staff. This is highly appreciated by both nursing and medical students.

With us, flexibility, interest in development, and providing residents with good service are highly valued. All professional areas within the health center's mission are represented, and we also have a youth clinic. For you, there are great opportunities to help shape the operations and take responsibility for certain tasks or areas of operation.

Gimo Health Center is centrally located in Gimo, fifty kilometers northeast of Uppsala. Alunda DSK clinic is currently under construction for a completely new health center, which is four kilometers from Uppsala. Österbybruk Health Center is a small family-oriented health center also located fifty kilometers northeast of Uppsala. From Gimo, it takes about 17 minutes, approximately 20 kilometers by car to the sea and Östhammar.

There are good commuting options to our health centers by bus and car.
