The brain is the most important thing we have and the part that determines our body and who we are. The brain is a mystery we are constantly learning more about. It controls everything we do, or cannot do. Doesn’t that sound exciting?

Our Operations

In the neuroscience department, we provide highly specialized care for patients with diseases and injuries of the nervous system and eye diseases. We work with investigation and diagnostics as well as medical and surgical treatment of both acute conditions and chronic diseases. Our work is always based on the patient's needs with a systematic approach.

Neurosurgery Ward 85E

We have a large catchment area as we are one of six highly specialized neurosurgical clinics in Sweden, and we receive both planned and emergency patients around the clock. The patients we care for have brain hemorrhages, tumors in the brain and spine, spinal injuries, vascular malformations, and hydrocephalus.

Day Care Unit for Neurosurgery and Neurology

In the day care unit, patients stay for the day for various examinations, investigations, and medication treatments. Patients come here for minor surgical procedures or to prepare for a larger surgical procedure that requires admission to inpatient care. Both in neurosurgery and neurology, patients come to day care both acutely and planned from all seven regions in the Central Sweden healthcare region. The day care unit serves as a hub within the department and is of great importance for the internal patient flows.

Your Mission

Day Care Unit

As a nurse, you have an overall responsibility to lead, prioritize, and perform nursing work. You coordinate the daily work together with nursing assistants and doctors to ensure effective and high-quality care. Your role includes conducting admission interviews, taking samples, administering medication treatments, and preparing patients for various examinations. You are also responsible for the care and monitoring of patients undergoing neurosurgical and neurological procedures, ensuring that each patient receives the best possible care. On certain days, you will also provide advice via phone and 1177.

Neurosurgery Ward 85E

As a nurse with us, you typically work in four-person teams during the day and evening, which means about six to seven patients per team.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse with at least 1 year of experience in the profession and a genuine interest in neurosurgery or neurology. You do not need to be an expert – we want your engagement and your willingness to grow with us.

Your Skills

You are attentive and have an easy time communicating with colleagues, patients, and relatives. You are an outgoing person, resilient to stress, and able to juggle many tasks at once. You can work independently and in a group. You have an interest in developing our operations where the patient is always in focus. You have the ability to prioritize and reprioritize your tasks as needed. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities as the job requires flexibility and a positive attitude.
