Berga offers the program Forest, Land and Animals at our adapted high school. It is a small unit where teachers collaboratively plan the education to ensure that students receive a rewarding education and school experience. The education is both theoretical and practical. Approximately half of the education takes place outdoors on our farm to concretize and reinforce the knowledge. School days are varied, and we work to challenge all students at their individual level to reach their full potential. The education aims to provide students with knowledge and conditions to achieve as independent and active a life as possible and to participate in community life after completing their studies.

We are looking for you who are qualified and certified to teach a couple or several subjects in the Forest, Land and Animals program, to teach at our Adapted High School. You will be part of a working team where planning and evaluation of the activities are carried out with a well-functioning quality work. The assignment also includes mentorship and contacts with guardians and legal representatives. It may be possible to have a combined position with teaching in the school's national nature management program. In the Forest, Land and Animals program, there is a well-functioning working team with good cooperation that always has the students in focus. Here you will work together with a special education teacher, a resource teacher, and a couple of teachers who also teach in the school's national nature management program.

Qualifications

For our adapted high school, we are now looking for teachers in gardening, land development, and nature management, as well as in mathematics, social studies, English, physical education and health, and home economics. You may also be responsible for APL and involve contacts with, for example, daily activities and habilitation.

We are looking for you who have a high school teacher's degree and qualifications to teach at an adapted high school.

As a teacher, you have social competence and great creative ability. We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented and can create trusting relationships with students. You are clear and empathetic and adapt the teaching based on the students' abilities and knowledge. Good collaboration skills with colleagues are a given, as we work in teams with students in focus.

About the School

Berga Nature Management High School is located in Västerhaninge outside Stockholm and is owned by Dille Bolagen AB. Our high school is situated on a large farm. The farm's area amounts to 600 hectares, which makes the school location unique for Stockholm County, just 30 minutes by commuter train from Stockholm Central Station. We run a farm and have horse stables, riding halls, riding arenas, driving loops, and boarding facilities. Since 1921, young people have been educated in agriculture at Berga, although the farm's history dates back much further than that. At Berga, it is close to both the city, the sea, and the forest.

Berga is a large school in terms of area but quite small in terms of the number of students. Today, about 220 students attend Berga. The number of staff is just over 50, which means there are not many students per adult at the school. Almost all teachers are qualified and have teaching certification.
