Bergaskolan is an F-6 school with approximately 280 students. The school is centrally located in Uppsala, close to both culture, the city center, and nature. At Bergaskolan, we have well-educated and engaged staff who place great importance on students being involved in their own learning and being stimulated and developed at their own level.

The student health team at the school works closely with the operations and is based on a health-promoting and preventive approach together with other staff. The teachers have regular meetings with the opportunity to collaborate and discuss teaching and students' knowledge development, as well as how to adapt teaching together according to the needs of students and groups. We have a good atmosphere at the school, and staff turnover is low.

Your Mission

Together with other teachers and leisure home assistants, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, following up, and developing teaching in the leisure home based on the central content of the curriculum. You are expected to create a stimulating and developing activity and environment with the student at the center. We offer you a varied and fun job with a lot of collaboration and creativity where you can help develop the operations. Many of our activities take place outdoors as we like to utilize our beautiful local environment.

You will have close collaboration and much communication with other leisure staff, other employees at the school, students, and guardians. During the school day, you will work with teaching in the school.

Your Background

We are looking for someone who has a Swedish teaching license with qualifications for leisure homes. Previous experience working or teaching in leisure homes is an advantage, as is experience working with students in need of special support. You need to have good oral and written skills in the Swedish language. We also prefer that you have knowledge of the governing documents of leisure homes and experience working digitally in various programs and systems.

As a person, you find it easy to collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and flexible manner. You are pedagogical and have an understanding of people's different conditions for absorbing knowledge. The job suits you if you are good at creating, maintaining, and developing professional relationships.
