International English School (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is in both Swedish and English, and the hallways are bilingual. The language of meetings and communication amongst the staff is English.


IES is one of Sweden's largest school groups at compulsory school level with 48 schools and around 32,000 students across the country. IES has grown steadily and maintained quality since 1993.

Teacher of English for Grades 4-6

International English School (IES) Uppsala is a grades 4-9 school with approximately 750 students and 80 staff members. IES Uppsala is a school where teachers can focus on teaching, students are given the opportunity to learn, and everyone enjoys coming to school every day. The school has an international focus and instruction is conducted in both English and Swedish. The school prioritizes learning and knowledge. Students learn to take personal responsibility for their own development and work environment and to respect their classmates, teachers, and themselves.

We are now seeking a licensed teacher for grades 4-6 with subject competence in English. The English instruction is conducted in English and follows the Swedish curriculum LGR22. The position includes shared mentorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and develop lessons
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate documentation
  • Mentorship for students in one of the classes you teach
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the school community

Who are you?

  • You have a teaching degree with qualifications and certification to teach English in grades 4-6.
  • It is an advantage if you have lived and worked in an English-speaking country.
  • You are passionate about development and a collegial working approach.

The position is 100% and a permanent contract starting in August 2025. We apply a 6-month probationary period. Salary according to agreement, collective agreement exists.
