The office Learn and Grow in Nykvarn Municipality runs four municipal primary schools and an adapted primary school for grades 1-9. At each school, there is a chief school nurse who is part of the overall student health team. The mission of the student health team is to promote students' learning, development, and health by contributing to increased equity where everyone is given support to develop towards the educational goals in a safe and accessible learning environment. School Nurse for Nykvarn Municipality

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a school nurse for one of our primary schools. As a school nurse in Nykvarn Municipality, you are employed within the central child and student health services and placed at one of our schools. Your immediate supervisor is the Head of Student Health, who is also medically responsible. In your role, it is important to create the best possible conditions for students' health, development, and learning, through collaboration with school management and other student health personnel. Together, we work to promote a good and accessible learning environment for our students.

Job Responsibilities:

• Preventive and health-promoting work in collaboration with school management and other members of the student health team
• Conduct health visits according to the basic program, vaccinations, and minor medical interventions
• Organize and coordinate school doctor appointments
• Work health-promoting and preventive to support students' mental and physical health to achieve educational goals
• Collaborate with students, guardians, school staff, and external actors and authorities
• Contribute your medical expertise and be an important part of the joint student health work

You are confident in your role and have the ability to quickly adapt when circumstances change. You have a strong commitment to the best interests of the students and want to help develop our health-promoting work. You enjoy taking your own initiative and are responsive to the needs of students and the organization. Your medical expertise and ability to create good relationships enable you to provide students and guardians with reliable support.

Nykvarn Municipality is a Finnish administrative area, and we consider it an advantage if you speak Finnish.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Licensed nurse with specialist training in child and youth, district nurse, or school nurse
• Experience as a school nurse is an advantage
• Engaged and structured with good documentation and follow-up skills
• Good knowledge of the Education Act as well as the Health and Medical Services Act, as well as other relevant laws for the profession within the medical interventions of student health
• Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly both orally and in writing
• Experience with digital tools and good computer skills, preferably experience with the medical record system Prorenata
