Department of Geriatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine and Pain Center
We are Uppsala University Hospital – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer care to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is honored as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se (http://akademiskafotoutstallning.se). Welcome with your application!
Our Operations
The Department of Geriatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine and Pain Center is characterized by well-functioning interprofessional collaboration, something we are very proud of. We want you to feel welcome with us; as a newcomer, you will be offered guidance, an introductory program, and professional networks. We within our department are experts in geriatrics and rehabilitation but always strive to become even better.
The Pain Center is one of the largest pain units in Sweden. We are at the forefront of the development of pain treatment. A major focus is on research and progress, both within and outside the hospital. As an employee, you are an important part of this; it is natural for you to want to develop and drive the operations forward.
We are now looking for a new colleague primarily placed in our Pain Rehabilitation Department. The operation is located in a picturesque environment at the Specialist Rehabilitation Unit in Ultuna. The unit has a group of 8 psychologists and good opportunities for collegial exchange. Pain rehabilitation primarily occurs in interdisciplinary teams, and our department has patients with chronic pain conditions in need of inpatient rehabilitation. Interventions for patients with chronic pain include assessments and treatment as well as education focusing on behavior change. Patient contacts occur both individually and in groups. The department also conducts multiprofessional pain assessments.
Your Mission
Being a psychologist in the pain rehabilitation department is a stimulating but also challenging job where you meet people in many different life situations. Psychiatric comorbidity is common among our patients. Your main tasks include conducting psychological assessments and treatment within the framework of a multimodal rehabilitation program for chronic pain. Treatment is based on CBT and ACT. The work is carried out in close collaboration with your team colleagues, where you contribute psychological knowledge and experience with a focus on creating behavior changes and increasing patients' functional levels.
Your Qualifications & Competence
We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist with a focus on CBT.
You have knowledge and/or a strong interest in pain and behavioral medicine as well as a good ability to work with patients with complex problems. You thrive in teamwork and have good collaborative skills. It is advantageous if you have experience working with patients with chronic pain and behavioral medicine, as well as experience in psychological treatment both individually and in groups. As we strive for a research-oriented operation, it is a plus if you are interested in continuous development work and research.
You should be flexible, solution-focused, and have a good ability to work both independently and together with others. You always put the patient in focus and are responsible and motivated in your work. You are an engaged and positive colleague who contributes to a good work environment. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and collaborative ability.
We Offer
We offer a temporary position at 100% between the period 250801-260801. There is an opportunity to convert the position to a PTP position. Start date according to agreement. Interviews will be conducted continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
