Your Role

This is a combined and varied role where you will have the opportunity to work as an insulator and mechanic. The job offers great opportunities to develop your professional skills and takes place both on board ships of varying technical levels and complexities as well as in the workshop.

As an insulator, you will work with insulation of various parts of the Navy's ships, which includes the production of insulation mats. The work involves handling insulation materials for various purposes and areas such as:

• Fire protection
• Exhaust systems
• Heating and cooling systems
• Cladding of e.g. corners, beams, and cabinets

The position also involves work in the mechanic workshop when there are no jobs available in the insulation workshop. Your main tasks will focus on troubleshooting, service, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical installations on the Navy's surface vessels.

Domestic travel occurs, primarily to ports within the Stockholm area.

Your Profile

To apply for the role, you have:

• High school education
• Computer skills
• Driving license B
• The ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish

It is advantageous if you have experience in:

• Work in a similar position
• Processing materials including drilling, turning, and milling
• Work with pumps and valves
• Hydraulic systems
• Work with overhead cranes, forklifts, and mobile platform work
• Heavy lifting work, e.g. hoists

Experience in sewing with a sewing machine for the production of insulation mats is also advantageous and something you will learn on-site if not.
