The Hammarö Library is part of the Culture Unit, which is under the Education Administration and caters to residents of all ages to meet their respective needs. Within the Education Administration, you work every day to create conditions for our children and young people to grow and develop. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The municipality of Hammarö is looking for a library educator for Hammarö Library. You will be part of a team of five people and have the opportunity to influence the development and operations of the library. You will play an important role in making reading accessible and stimulating for children and young people of different ages.

Your tasks include initiating, planning, and implementing reading promotion activities for children and young people, both digitally and analogously. You contribute your expertise in children's and youth literature, media and information literacy, and source criticism. You enjoy collaborating with teachers in schools and thrive in working with children and young people.

Your tasks include, among others:

• Staffing the library's desk and actively participating in reading promotion work and media responsibility.
• Some responsibility for activities such as book clubs, outreach events, and collaboration with schools.
• Planning, implementing, and evaluating activities for the library's visitors.
• Developing educational programs for children and young people, such as author visits and cultural events.
• Contributing to making the library a welcoming place where everyone is treated professionally.

As a library educator, we see that you enjoy working outwardly and communicatively, and that you can adapt your working methods to the needs of visitors. You should be accustomed to working in digital environments and have a good sense of service. Evening work is included in the position.

Start date is according to agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are primarily looking for a licensed teacher in Swedish with good knowledge and experience of how pedagogical work strengthens students' linguistic abilities and digital competence. We consider it an advantage if you have academic courses in source criticism and media and information literacy. You are aware of your surroundings, curious, and interested in literature with practical experience from public libraries.

You need to be able to work in an organized and structured manner and have good prioritization skills. You should have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You enjoy development and take responsibility for ensuring that work is done as efficiently as possible. Experience with creative schools and school libraries is an advantage.
