Arvika parish is located in Western Värmland, seventy kilometers from Karlstad. The municipality is home to the Ingesund School of Music. The parish consists of five congregations with eleven churches. The parish has about 100 employees, of which eight are church musicians.

Job Responsibilities

The position includes service at worship and church ceremonies in Gunnarskog and Bogen churches, leadership for the church choir and children's choir. You will be responsible for music services and other church music-related tasks. You will belong to the work team in Gunnarskog congregation. The activities in Gunnarskog congregation constitute about 70% of the position, while other duties mainly take place in Arvika. The content of the position can be partially adapted depending on the profile and wishes of the person in the role.

Who are you

We are looking for a church musician who wants to develop the congregation's music both on traditional grounds and in new forms. You are a skilled and engaged choir leader who has the ability to inspire congregational singing with liturgical organ playing. You have an interest in other tasks in the congregational work, such as worship development, confirmation contacts, school contacts, and more.

The person hired must belong to the Church of Sweden and share its values. You have a church musician degree level C ("kantor exam"), or other qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer. It is an advantage if you have professional experience as a church musician.
