About the Workplace

Jakobsbergsgården's kitchen prepares and sends out 150-160 lunches and 140 dinners daily to 14 departments in four special accommodations, day care activities, and meal boxes. We are now looking for a head chef who will work together with 5 colleagues to prepare these meals. The lunch consists of 2 dishes and a dessert, while dinner consists of one dish.

Job Responsibilities

As a Head Chef, you are one of the Meal Unit's inspirers and team builders. With a clear guest and customer focus, you lead and distribute the work efficiently. You are responsible for planning and preparing meals that appeal to both the eye and the taste buds. The food served to guests must be well-prepared, delicious, and nutritionally adapted to the guest. As a Head Chef, you are responsible for managing the restaurant's resources from an economic and business perspective. You are responsible for following and maintaining the budget, as well as having an overview of the need for substitutes. Good hospitality, customers, and guests should be the focus. Together with other head chefs, cooks, and meal managers, you participate in menu planning and the design of meals, as well as the development of the Meal Unit's operations as a whole.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a chef education, high school hotel and restaurant education, or equivalent education that the employer assesses as equivalent. We prefer that you have experience in a leadership position in large kitchens, preferably in public operations.

• have good communication skills and can express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing, are flexible, attentive, but also clear. You have excellent leadership qualities and see the connection between good leadership and successful results.
• have the ability to build a successful team based on the premise that different strengths, skills, and experiences lead to success.
• have a clear guest and customer focus and the ability to drive continuous improvements and development of Sala municipality's public meals.
• are structured and good at planning and distributing tasks.
• have good computer skills as we work in several operational systems.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Employment Conditions

Permanent employment, full-time, daytime. Start date by agreement. Individual salary setting. A probationary period may be applied.
