Academic Resource is looking for an Automation Engineer for a Life Science company in Uppsala.

The position is a full-time employment and a long-term consulting assignment, with a potential opportunity for recruitment by the client company.

About the position:

As an Automation Engineer, you will lead and perform activities to ensure automation functionality, support projects for new production sites, develop automation strategies, and collaborate with system suppliers to optimize operator experience and production efficiency.

You will belong to the System Support department within Manufacturing Engineering, which is part of our client's large-scale chemical production operations in Uppsala.

The role we are looking for will also work on the K-star project, which is building a new production site in Muskegon, USA.

The main responsibilities of the section are:

• Support the operations and perform corrective actions in the automation area.

• Key role in projects to secure the site's automation standards as the operations grow, including during the construction of the site in Muskegon, USA.

• Lead and operationally perform activities related to our automation strategy.

• Develop the automation area for better functionality, operator experience, and output.

• Together with system suppliers, ensure procedures, documentation, and support.

Qualifications:

• Degree from a college or university with a relevant focus, or equivalent experience from a similar role in automation.

• You need to have solid knowledge of DCS (distributed control system), preferably ABB 800xA.

• Knowledge of system integration.

• It is important that you are proficient in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

• Interest and ability to travel to Muskegon, USA, for project work.

Meritorious:

It is advantageous if you have previous experience from the process industry, support operations, or active system management. A broad network within the industry and knowledge of systems such as Unicorn, PAS-X, and Oracle is also beneficial. Experience working in a global organization with multiple control systems and a strong interest in digitalization can further strengthen your application. A solution-oriented and service-minded attitude is something we value highly.
