The Meal Service provides good, safe, well-prepared, nutritious, and sustainable food that is pleasant and integrated. The meals are planned with a holistic view of the environment and service. The Meal Service prepares food for preschools, schools, and nursing homes, as well as for the Östergötland region.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to create pleasant, safe, good, and nutritious meals?

As a chef, you are responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking meals. You ensure that the food is ready at delivery or serving time and plan the cooking for upcoming days. You review the day's recipes and special diets with other employees. Furthermore, you follow procedures for handling special diets and keep yourself updated in the field. As a chef, you assist or are responsible for ordering goods and receiving orders for excursions and catering. You are service-oriented and treat everyone with respect to contribute to a positive dining experience. You participate in the work to achieve common goals and work according to current policies, guidelines, and business ideas. You engage in efforts for sustainable meals and reduced waste, and you are responsible for preparing the right amount of food.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying have a high school education in restaurant and food, large-scale training, or other equivalent education, or relevant work experience that is assessed to correspond to education.

You have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. A B driver's license and access to a car are required.

You have at least 1 year of experience working in a restaurant and/or large kitchen or equivalent. Experience beyond 1 year is meritorious.

• You organize and plan your work well, work according to a clear process where you complete what you have started. You set deadlines and meet them.
• You think outside the box and find new solutions to both old and new problems. You often come up with ideas and new approaches to work-related issues and have innovative thinking that can be implemented in practice and leads to results.
• You are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You have the interest, will, and ability to help others and make an effort to deliver solutions.
