Nyhetskoll is looking for a video journalist!

Nyhetskoll is a newly started project between UR and SVT, aimed at teenagers focusing on 16-year-olds. We create news where teenagers are - on TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, and Instagram. Now we are looking for someone to help us grow!

What we offer you:

An exciting role in a new team exploring how we best reach teenagers with news, both in classrooms and during their free time. You will complement the editorial team with a focus on publishing and dialogue on social media. With us, you will have the opportunity to be innovative in digital news journalism aimed at young people. You will be given a large creative space and the chance to influence both content and tone. Additionally, you will have access to a large network within both UR and SVT.

The position is a fixed-term employment from now until the end of the year.

What this position entails:

At Nyhetskoll, you will work together with reporters, editors, and graphic designers to maximize our content on social media.

You will produce and publish your own posts, but also package other material from the editorial team or other content from SVT News. You will optimize posts with image selection, graphics, headlines, captions, tags, etc., and you will continuously work with moderation and dialogue.

Although the main focus is on social media, you will also learn to handle the publishing systems for all our platforms. You will also participate in the idea work and the editorial team's development efforts based on set goals.

Who we believe you are:

You are a video journalist and have worked with social media at a news editorial office. You are used to moderating and engaging in dialogue in the comment sections.

You are confident both in front of and behind the camera, and you are also skilled in editing with Premiere.

You want to push boundaries in terms of form and subject matter, but you are also meticulous and secure in journalistic assessments. You have a tone and style that would be appreciated by 16-year-olds.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Journalism education at a post-secondary level
• Work experience as a video/social media reporter
• Good knowledge of Premiere.

Preferred:

• Experience working with editorial content aimed at a younger audience.
• Experience with a data-driven editorial approach.
• Experience with dialogue and/or moderation on social media.
