IT Department

The IT department consists of a total of 26 people working to support the municipality's core operations and create a stable and secure IT environment for both the municipality's operations and collaboration with our surroundings. This also includes Kiruna's city network, Gironet. The focus areas of the IT department are technical support and troubleshooting, system administration, IT security, project management, development, operational support, and training. We primarily work with a Windows platform in a virtual environment based on ESX/VMWare. Our goal is to ensure that the municipality's technical resources are used efficiently, securely, and in line with the organization's goals.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an engaged and knowledgeable IT systems technician with expertise in access management and technical application operations. In the role of IT systems technician, you will work closely with our internal customers and with our other employees to ensure smooth operation of the organization's applications and effective management of access control for our systems and applications.

The tasks include, among other things:

• Customize, configure, and administer our technical platforms for access management with associated connections to other systems and applications.
• Using MDM systems to monitor, maintain, and version control applications to ensure they meet the organization's requirements for confidentiality, availability, and accuracy.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to application operations.
• Collaborate with other systems technicians, infrastructure technicians, workplace technicians, our IT Service Desk, vendors, and other stakeholders to implement solutions, adaptations, and improvements.
• As a technical specialist, guide and support the municipality's core operations in procurement, adaptations, and integrations as well as in contact with vendors and other technical stakeholders.
• Document and report technical solutions and work processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant education in IT or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in access management and handling user accounts and authentication.
• Competence in technical operation and management of applications.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team.
• Knowledge of some of our technical platforms:
• Microsoft Active Directory
• Microsoft Configuration Manager and Intune
• Entra/Entra ID
• IDP OneGate
• Powershell
• Microsoft Windows (workstations and servers)
• IOS & Android (mobile platforms)
• Chromebook (student computers)
• Any certification or specialized knowledge in these technical areas is a merit.
