Vägga High School currently has just over 1000 students and 150 employees. The school offers most national programs as well as introductory programs and adapted upper secondary school. The upper secondary school is divided into four school units, each with a responsible principal.

The Education Administration has about 1200 employees and is responsible for preschool, primary school, adapted school, upper secondary school, municipal adult education, commissioned education, and SFI.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for a qualified teacher with authorization to teach at the upper secondary level in the electrical and energy program or a worker in the electrical and energy sector who wants to try the profession.

You should have worked as an electrician for several years, either as a self-employed person or as an employee. It is advantageous if you have good and established contacts within the electrical industry. It is important that you possess knowledge of the requirements and guidelines set by the central professional board of the electrical industry (ECY) for obtaining an electrical certificate and the path to becoming a qualified electrician, as well as knowledge of the legislation that applies to electrical installations and electrical safety.

You will teach all grades within alarm, telecommunications, and electrical engineering. The EE program has specializations in Electrical Engineering and Energy Technology. You will work on both specializations. You have both practical and theoretical experience in the field. You have a pronounced ability to collaborate, can take your own initiatives, and have the will and ability to meet and support each student in their learning based on their knowledge level. As a teacher, you see opportunities to work with ICT as a natural tool in learning and teaching. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Specializations at Vägga High School

The Electrical Engineering specialization provides knowledge in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, electrical distribution networks, alarms, and TV and data networks. The Energy Technology specialization provides knowledge in performing operational and maintenance work as well as specialized service functions within the energy, environmental, and water technology industries, as well as process-based industries.

Job Responsibilities

Teaching and other teaching duties in the Electrical and Energy Program. The assignment includes mentorship and developing the program within a team. We would like you to have experience working with youth and good knowledge of the local labor market.
