Campus Nynäshamn is looking for vocational teachers in healthcare and social care

Job Responsibilities

Campus Nynäshamn aims to develop the best education for each student in close collaboration with industry and business. We want to create a better future through high-quality education, good results, and innovative thinking. Program councils and commissioned education, such as the Elderly Care Lift, are part of this position.

As a vocational teacher at Campus Nynäshamn, you will work from a formative approach to plan and implement teaching. You will follow up on students' learning and progression in accordance with the National Agency for Education's national vocational packages focusing on healthcare and social care for adult education. You will also be responsible for our students' APL and contact with the industry. You will have the privilege of being responsible for teaching students from various backgrounds and cultures.

You will plan to alternate theoretical teaching and working environment with practical exercises conducted in the training facilities and via digital learning environments. Teaching takes place within all courses in the vocational package in healthcare and social care. Campus Nynäshamn has two vocational packages in healthcare and social care; care assistant and nursing assistant. This position will primarily involve the vocational program for care assistants. However, you will work very closely with your teaching colleague in the nursing assistant program. Therefore, it is very important that you have the knowledge and competence to support and assist in that vocational package as well. Teamwork and collaboration are important qualities we are looking for. You should also have knowledge and understanding of GY-25, which will be implemented in this program from July 1, 2025. You will actively participate with a fantastic teaching team and other staff in the development work of the organization, attending meetings, conferences, and professional development.

The work will mostly take place on-site at Campus in Nynäshamn. However, we use hybrid technology, which means that parts of the work can be done digitally from a distance.

About the Workplace

The mission of the Business and Labor Market Administration is to strengthen Nynäshamn Municipality as an attractive place for entrepreneurs. We meet the need for competence by offering education to young people and adults at Nynäshamn High School and Campus Nynäshamn. We also work to increase opportunities for people who are far from the labor market to establish themselves or return to work.

Campus Nynäshamn is the municipality's learning center with a comprehensive offer of education for adults in four school forms. We offer university and college education, vocational college education, national vocational education, and municipal adult education. Our focus is to be a driving force, broker, and meeting place for businesses and students. The goal is to create competence growth and innovation through meetings between education and the labor market. We have around 55 employees at Campus Nynäshamn.

What We Are Looking For

You who are applying should have worked in the industry for several years and hold a teaching license to teach healthcare and social care for municipal adult education at the upper secondary level.

To succeed in the role, you also have:

  • Vocational teacher qualification to teach nursing assistants
  • Documented experience in planning and instructing others in their learning within healthcare
  • Documented experience in handling digital learning environments and technical equipment
  • Experience working with computers and digital tools
  • Experience and knowledge in managing different people and working in teams.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Nursing education
  • Experience in digital pedagogy or working with various digital platforms/LMS such as It's Learning or Alvis
  • Worked closely with industry and municipal operations, for example through program councils or the Elderly Care Lift
  • Experience in organizing and following up on APL
  • An established industry network for APL placements within the Stockholm region.

To succeed in the role, you need to be able to work independently and goal-oriented, and you also have an inviting manner and are solution-oriented. You are proactive, can see the big picture, and are service-oriented with excellent collaboration and communication skills. You work efficiently and can independently understand and take responsibility for your tasks.

Since you will also work closely with workplaces and the Elderly Care Lift in the municipality, it means maintaining existing relationships and creating new ones where opportunities arise. You need to understand the possibilities of change while being flexible. Since Campus Nynäshamn largely relies on collaboration, it is important that you enjoy working in a winning team with others.
