Sustainability Specialist at JM

Are you a driven and committed sustainability specialist who wants to influence the future of societies? At JM, you have the chance to make a real difference and be part of the development of sustainable building projects. Here, you will have the opportunity to influence and gather valuable experiences that make an impact in the construction industry – together we build the future!

About the position

We are now looking for a Sustainability Specialist who will focus on climate and circularity. In this role, you will be a key person in the Sustainability Department within the Business Development unit. We are already on a good path to reducing climate impact, and since 2018 we have been actively working to certify all our projects according to the Swan label. Here you will have the opportunity to lead, coordinate, and develop our environmental and sustainability work. You will work closely with our teams across the group – from Sweden to the countries and regions where JM operates.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing a strategy for how JM works with circularity
  • Project management of sustainability initiatives within climate and circularity
  • Project management of climate roadmaps for building components and logistics
  • Development of tools and strategies for circular flows and reuse
  • Creating a knowledge bank with good sustainability examples
  • Project management of science-based targets
  • Active participation in local industry initiatives
  • Driving development projects at the group level that encompass all of JM's operating countries

You will report to JM's Sustainability Manager Maria Sandell and be part of an inspiring team of sustainability specialists. The location can be Stockholm (Solna), Malmö, Gothenburg, or Uppsala, and some travel may be required.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with an environmental or construction degree and previous experience in similar roles within sustainability, preferably in the construction industry. You have at least three years of experience leading development projects and a strong drive to advance sustainability initiatives. You are self-driven, structured, and analytical with good communication skills, both in Swedish and English. Experience with science-based targets or mathematical tools for sustainability calculations is a plus.

We are looking for someone who shares JM's values of quality, long-term thinking, reliability, engagement, responsiveness, and style – and who wants to contribute to our journey towards a sustainable future.

We offer

At JM, you should be able to perform and take on new challenging tasks when the old ones become too small. We want to create conditions for you to feel proud of your career, and we do this by thinking long-term in everything we do. The houses we build today should stand for at least a hundred years. They should become homes for people who are yet to be born, and therefore sustainability is our responsibility and ambition. We have integrated the UN's global goals for sustainable development into our operations, which involves various commitments such as aiming for JM's climate-impacting emissions to be close to zero by 2030 and that 20% of our craftsmen should be women.

By working with us, you are helping to change the industry.

Application

Does this sound like a role for you? Apply today – we interview continuously and the position may be filled before the application deadline. In this recruitment, we are collaborating with Adecco, and if you have questions about the position, you are warmly welcome to contact Sara Höglund at sara.hoglund@adecco.se (mailto:sara.hoglund@adecco.se) or 073-684 73 23.

Come and write history together with us at JM – we look forward to hearing from you!
