The role of children's librarian with us

As a children's librarian with digital competence, you will play an important role in our work to make reading accessible and stimulating for all children. Together with colleagues, you will develop the library as a vibrant, interactive, and inspiring meeting place for children and their families.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Promoting reading and storytelling through a combination of traditional methods and innovative solutions.
• Exploring the potential of AI and digital technology to create engaging and creative ways to present literature to children and co-create with the target audience.
• Building and maintaining networks with relevant stakeholders.
• Creating and implementing activities such as story hours, workshops, digital storytelling workshops, and interactive reading projects.
• Contributing to creating a welcoming and stimulating library environment that meets the needs and interests of children.
• The role also includes traditional children's librarian tasks, such as receiving booked groups and providing reading promotion book tips.

Your profile

You have a genuine interest in children's reading, storytelling, and digital competence, combining this with your pedagogical ability to create engaging activities for and with children. In addition, you are a good communicator and network builder, with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

You are also flexible, solution-oriented, and enjoy working both independently and in a team. Furthermore, you are interested in exploring how AI and modern technology can be used in reading promotion. You express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing, as this is required in daily work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a degree in library and information science or other relevant education.
• Has good digital competence.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working with children's reading and cultural habits.
• Experience working with children.
• Knowledge of how digital tools can be used for storytelling and learning.
• A driving license (B).
