Then you might be the one we are looking for to fill the position of program leader for the introductory program at Ellen Fries Gymnasium!

Ellen Fries Gymnasium is a school with many different programs, from vocational training with introductory programs, apprenticeships, and school-based education to college preparatory programs. The school is in a phase of development, and we have made good progress, but there are still areas to improve. At Ellen Fries Gymnasium, we work with flexibility and variation in teaching to meet students' different paths for learning and development.

Your Mission

Together with the program director, you will lead the daily work of the introductory program with a particular focus on the resource class with an emphasis on autism. You have an interest in developing the introductory program and will work with teachers and other student health staff towards the goal of every student succeeding. The position also includes responsibility for the continuous intake of new students together with the career counselor, lead teacher, and social worker. You will meet with students individually and in groups and supervise teachers.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a Swedish teaching license. You have a special education teacher degree or a special pedagogy degree. You have good oral and written skills in Swedish. The work requires good knowledge of the Swedish National Agency for Education's governing documents and curriculum, as well as knowledge of good learning environments. To succeed in this role, you need experience working with students on the autism spectrum.

Training regarding reading and writing difficulties, language impairment, and students with neuropsychiatric disorders is considered an asset. We also prefer candidates with experience teaching at the primary school level, working with students in need of special support, supervising educators, and leading teams or similar roles. Familiarity with systems such as Prorenata, E-barn, and Unikum is an advantage.

As a person, you are flexible and can see opportunities in change. Furthermore, you have the ability to take a holistic view and see issues from a broader perspective. You take initiative and start activities to achieve results. This job suits you if you have good leadership skills. Additionally, you are good at creating, maintaining, and developing professional relationships and collaborate well and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner.
