Öckerö municipality has approximately 13,000 inhabitants and employs around 1,100 people. Together, we live and work in a municipality consisting of ten inhabited islands.

We are a popular and well-functioning high school in Öckerö, just outside Gothenburg. We have just over 300 students distributed across 5 high school programs: Marine Technology, Nature, Social Studies, Maritime, and IMA. All our students, in national programs, sail with our school ship T/S Gunilla to varying extents. However, the vast majority of the teaching takes place at the school in Öckerö. We have low staff turnover and work closely together to ensure our students succeed in their education.

You who are applying for the position should have relevant education and experience from working as a special educator in both theoretical and practical programs. You find it easy to collaborate with others and have good references. Qualification in one or more subjects at the high school level may be an advantage, as some teaching may occur depending on the desired position level and what we agree upon. We place particular emphasis on personal suitability and good references.

We are looking for someone who wants to work at the school, group, and individual levels. You will work strategically and preventively with school management, educators, and student health to create a good learning environment and remove barriers to students' learning. You will collaborate with teachers regarding teaching, groups, and individual students. You will work with individual students, strengthening them and developing their ability to acquire knowledge. You will teach individual students in subjects they find difficult, if necessary. In collaboration with staff, guardians, and students, you will propose adjustments and suggestions for special support. You will conduct the necessary assessments. You will be part of our student health team.

To succeed in this role, you need to be a socially competent and proactive person who sees and listens to the needs that exist. You are constructive and work health-promoting and preventively to create a good atmosphere and a good learning environment at all levels.
