JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a support educator for BmSS Gräsmånadsgatan!

Gräsmånadsgatan BmSS is a group home with special services for 5 individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities such as autism, neuropsychiatry, and comorbidity (Challenging behavior may occur as well as various types of self-harm). The location of the residence: A 10-minute walk from the tram stop Januarigatan (towards Bergsjön).

The support educator is expected to pedagogically drive the operational work within the unit by guiding, communicating, clarifying, and following up on the pedagogical work that occurs based on given goals regarding our users. Together with colleagues, you ensure the work with implementation plans and social documentation in the operation. Together, you create value by meeting the individual professionally, communicating with respect for the individual's self-determination and personal integrity, and working with clarifying pedagogy.

As a support educator, you are a resource for increasing the pedagogical approach in the operation, supporting users' participation and independence. You will be part of a network of other support educators and method developers within Disability Support with the aim of learning from each other and implementing new evidence-based methods. You will also work to collaborate or promote collaboration around the individual and their relevant contacts and meetings. In consultation with other professionals, you will develop and use individually adapted pedagogical solutions and methods based on evidence.

The profession requires that you can, in a humble way with the individual in focus, create a good structure and context for our users and collaborate with their network. You are well-anchored in the LSS legislation and the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines regarding the execution of the assignment. Housing with special services offers support around the clock. We base our work on the needs of the tenants and need to adapt working hours accordingly. Your working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend. We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted and flexible schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position of support educator, post-secondary specialization in the disability field is required, encompassing at least 200 YH points or 60 higher education credits or a combination thereof corresponding to at least two semesters of full-time studies. The education should have a clear focus on the disability field in its entirety. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

Experience as a support educator and experience in psychiatry and neuropsychiatry is required for the position. It is also required that you have experience and knowledge of IBIC, ESL, MI, low affective approach (LAB), AAC - Augmentative and Alternative Communication. You have good computer skills and experience in social documentation. We consider it meritorious if you also have other pedagogical education as a foundation and experience working with aging and/or dementia.
