As a case officer in the guardianship unit, you will have varied and qualified tasks with great responsibility.

Your duties as a case officer will primarily involve investigations, opinions, decision-making, and supervision of guardians, administrators, and custodians. You will work under the delegation of the guardianship authority. Your tasks will also include reviewing accounting documents and deciding on fees. The position involves contact with individuals and other authorities, mainly via email and phone, but visits may also occur. You will be involved in driving the overarching development issues within the organization. Representing the guardianship authority at oral hearings in court is also part of the duties.

The guardians are elected by the municipal council, and the guardianship unit in Hässleholm municipality consists of a unit manager, two case officers, and an administrator. The task of the guardianship authority is to supervise the management of custodians, administrators, and guardians. This supervision aims to guarantee against legal losses for individuals who cannot safeguard their rights, manage their property, or care for themselves.

The position is a permanent employment starting by agreement.

Your workplace will be at the city hall in central Hässleholm, close to both train and bus connections.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a university degree in social work, economics, law, or another education that the employer deems equivalent.

Experience in case handling within guardianship operations is advantageous. We prefer that you have good knowledge of the legislation governing the operations, e.g., the Parental Code. It is also advantageous if you have worked practically with legal application, authority exercise, or other supervisory activities. We expect you to be computer literate and able to handle the most common computer programs. It is a plus if you have experience with our case management system Wärna Go. Since you will be working with authority exercise, it is a requirement that you are skilled at expressing yourself well both verbally and in writing.

We are looking for someone with good decision-making ability who can organize and structure your tasks effectively. You are resilient and can work independently with great accuracy. You are stable and have good self-awareness. At the guardianship unit, we work closely together, so it is important that you have good collaboration skills. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.

The Secretariat and Communication Department has overall responsibility for the municipality's case preparation, citizen contact, communication work, and democratic processes. The operations have a wide range - among the employees are municipal lawyers, communicators, archivists, municipal secretaries, web managers, registrars, municipal guides, and guardianship case officers. The department is divided into four units: secretariat, communication, contact center, and guardianship.

The guardianship unit is an authority that supervises guardians, administrators, and custodians. The operations also include the recruitment of guardians and administrators. The operations are politically led by a guardian elected by the municipal council. The guardianship operations work under the delegation of the guardian.
