Job Responsibilities

We are looking for two motivated and ambitious students who are currently in their 2nd or 3rd year of our civil engineering program to support students in lower years with their various courses, especially those involving calculations. This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen your own understanding of the subject while helping others succeed in their studies. Your tasks will include helping students understand how different assignments can be solved. You will also guide students in calculation-based subjects and promote a positive and supportive learning environment.

The tasks consist of:

• Study support for students who need extra guidance
• Helping students understand how different assignments can be solved, and detailing how various calculation steps work.
• Discussing with the program coordinator/subject representative if there are challenges with components from a specific course

Eligibility Requirements/Qualifications

Only those who are admitted to education at the undergraduate or graduate level at MDU can be employed as teaching assistants. Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 5 § 8-12.

Qualifications for the position are:

• You must be a student in our civil engineering program (2nd or 3rd year).
• You must have good academic results from the civil engineering program.
• You need to be communicative and have the ability to explain complex problems in a simple way.
• You should be motivated to support fellow students in their learning.
• You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
