Responsibilities

As a maintenance mechanic, you will be responsible for preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on our production lines. You will collaborate with operators, technicians, and other production staff to identify and communicate improvements. The role includes installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, as well as reading and updating technical documentation as needed.

You will also work on:

• Inspecting components for wear, vibrations, or insufficient lubrication.
• Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electromechanical components.
• Repairing and replacing equipment.
• Contributing to the optimization of maintenance programs and continuous improvement.
• Training others in specific maintenance tasks.
• Evaluating the need for spare parts for the equipment.
• Maintaining good housekeeping practices and a safe working environment with the team.
• Ensuring safe working conditions with Lock Out, Tag Out procedures during repairs and inspections.

Qualifications

• Relevant education in mechanics or a similar field.
• Significant experience in heavy industry.
• Experience in the steel production industry is highly desirable.
• Documented qualifications in occupational health and safety (e.g., OHSA).
• Knowledge of EU and Swedish safety standards.
• Experience working with and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work under limited supervision in non-routine situations.
• Ability to develop work methods and support the operations manager as needed.
• Advanced knowledge of operational processes and tools.
• Ability to work independently and meticulously.
• Good command of English; Swedish is a plus.
