Luleå Gymnasieskola is Luleå Municipality's collective upper secondary school, consisting of ten school units, one of which is a special upper secondary school. The school units are located in the four blocks of the upper secondary village, forming a campus area in central Luleå. Here, over 2,400 students study, and we are about 350 who work here. The connections with the business community are many, and in the local steering groups, the business community collaborates with the upper secondary school to create good conditions for students to be well prepared for the time after their upper secondary education.

Our Technical College is located in the Kungsfågeln and Nya Hackspetten blocks, where Te4 has fully renovated educational facilities. The Technical College is designed in close collaboration with regional companies. The content is tailored to match the needs of the companies. Our Technical College offers high-class technical education.

In collaboration with the regional industry in civil engineering, we conduct upper secondary education during a fourth year in the Technical Program with a focus on civil engineering. The education is one year long, where theoretical studies are combined with company-adapted internships. The education leads to a degree as a high school engineer in construction production management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

For our fourth Technical Year TE4, we are now looking for a business-oriented teacher in civil engineering technology. You will teach with a focus on the following courses:

• The High School Engineer in Practice
• The Construction Process
• Construction Production Management
• Applied Technology
• Building Structures

The course content is tailored to meet the demands of the business community in the field, and teaching will therefore take place in close collaboration with existing companies in the construction sector. Working on projects is central to the education. Most of the time, teaching takes place on-site at the school, and when our students are out on their workplace-based learning for 12 weeks, you will have close contact with contact persons at the respective collaborating companies. We can offer you a stimulating teaching environment where the target group is highly motivated students!

It is essential that you enjoy working with young people and providing them with a future. You should be involved in driving the education forward and staying well-informed about new technology. Working collaboratively and with close industry cooperation is something that is included in all our positions at the Technical College.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are open to different profiles, and therefore your background may come from the school world or the business community. Either you have a vocational teacher education, or you work in the civil engineering field and have an educational background in civil or engineering technology, or a degree from a 4-year technical high school and have enjoyed that role and now feel that you want to take the opportunity to convey your knowledge to our youth. The most important thing for us is that you can transform your previous work experience and skills into creating and delivering high-quality education for our students.

You have solid technical knowledge and a positive attitude towards finding close collaboration with colleagues and also with actors outside the school. Your pedagogical approach and social skills make it easy for you to connect with people, and you are therefore also good at conveying your knowledge to our students. You have good collaboration skills and can handle many issues simultaneously. You have the ability to structure and organize.
