Project Assistant at the Urban Environment Administration

The Urban Environment Administration has a comprehensive responsibility for the city's public spaces and overall accessibility. We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. Approximately 900 people work at the administration.

The Urban Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg City. Together, we work to create conditions for a functioning infrastructure, quality housing and premises, an inviting public environment, and strive for the city to be sustainable from all perspectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you looking for a varied job with the opportunity to learn more about urban development and especially the method of place development?

Since 2012, place development has been ongoing in Frihamnen through the method of place development, which has been the basis for the development of Jubileumsparken. The method involves testing different functions together with the public by collaboratively developing, activating, and evaluating prototypes. The aim is to contribute to more inclusive urban development processes, sustainable transformation, and strengthened place relationships. We are now looking for a project assistant to strengthen ongoing place development projects in Frihamnen.

As a project assistant, you will be responsible for sub-projects related to place development in Frihamnen, with a particular focus on the prototypes of the Transition Lab and the marine allotment Flytevi. In your role, you will participate in the implementation of the project Omslaget. You will be responsible for parts of the operation and maintenance of the prototypes and plan and execute public programs and activities. You will work with the ongoing operations at the Transition Lab, which includes collaborating with associations and other stakeholders. Furthermore, you will contribute to communication efforts by creating content for the website and social media, as well as signage on-site. Part of your work will also involve documenting the process through photography and text.

The position is 50% during the period of April to October.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has completed or is pursuing post-secondary education in architecture, design, community development, or project management in culture/events/production, or equivalent work experience as assessed by the employer. You must be proficient in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written. You have experience working independently and with tasks that involve personal responsibility. Additionally, we would like you to have experience in:

  • project management in culture, events, or production within public programs
  • working together with the public, preferably through projects and small-scale construction
  • conveying messages in images and text

You are creative and confident in implementing new ideas and perspectives to solve problems that arise. You are collaborative and work to create conditions for good partnerships. You are goal-oriented while being attentive and responsive to changes.

We offer a varied job with a wide range of tasks and contacts. We warmly welcome your application!
