To EDIT – The units for Digitalization and IT at MSB are looking for two application technicians.

The units are responsible for the development and management of the digital workplace and create the conditions for tomorrow's digitalization. This includes user support, hardware management, applications, and systems for our users across the entire authority.

Your responsibilities and tasks

As an application technician with us, you will have a broad role where you will work with our systems and applications. Our application and system environment is very varied, and responsibilities may shift over time depending on the demands we face. You will gain systems-specific knowledge with us; what you bring is a broad foundational competence in IT, a great deal of curiosity, and a desire to develop expertise in new areas. Therefore, your flexibility and ability to adapt to different applications and technical environments will be of great benefit.

Your tasks include, among others:

• Installation, testing, upgrading, and configuration of our systems and applications.
• System administration, management of any integrations, and certificate management.
• Monitoring to ensure performance requirements, for example.
• Incident management, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
• Development of instructions, routines, system descriptions, and other documentation.
• Participation in procurements and contact with suppliers, ensuring that user needs are addressed.

We have some operations 24/7, and you may also become part of the authority's emergency organization.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for someone who:

• has at least a couple of years of experience as an application or system technician in a Microsoft server and client environment.
• has basic knowledge of role-based access control.
• has knowledge of networks and how they function at a general level.
• has basic knowledge of database management and SQL.
• is structured and communicates fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you have experience in:

• participating in IT projects.
• leading teams, assignments, or smaller projects.
• programming, scripting languages, e.g., for automation.
• working in an organization with high IT security requirements.
• working in the public sector and with requirements specification.

Your work is characterized by a strong service orientation, and you are self-driven with the ability to take initiative and drive smaller assignments within your area. You work solution-oriented and see collaboration with users and other IT technicians as a natural part of the job.

About the employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.

Your place of employment will be Stockholm or Karlstad, and travel may occur in the position.

Swedish citizenship is a requirement for employment at MSB as it involves placement in a security class. An approved result in the security screening with background check, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act, is required for employment. Most employees at MSB are assigned to military service.

About us

Our IT and digitalization operations currently consist of about 50 people within the department for operational support and are located in two offices, in Karlstad and Stockholm. The Digital Workplace unit is responsible for user support, personal IT equipment, meeting room technology, telephony, application management, and more.

We offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work remotely to some extent. There is an opportunity to take wellness hours, and you also receive a wellness allowance. For you as a state employee, there are favorable vacation conditions.
