JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to lead and develop the work with the municipality's street environments? We are looking for a unit manager for the street operations at the technical office!

At the technical office, we are responsible for a wide range of operations within Vetlanda municipality, where the street unit plays a central role. Here we work on constructing, maintaining, and managing the municipality's street environments. A large part of the operational and construction work is carried out in-house, but we also collaborate with contractors. This includes everything from winter road maintenance, gravel road maintenance, and asphalting to street cleaning and the construction of traffic environment measures. The unit is also responsible for transport, contractor vehicles, and workshop and storage functions.

As a unit manager, you will lead the work with street operations and construction work within public areas, such as playgrounds, streets, water and sewage works, and development areas. You will have personnel and budget responsibility and work strategically with procurement of contractors and construction machinery. Within your unit, you will have three supervisors and a workforce of about 17 employees. You will also be part of the preparedness for operational disturbances and alarms related to public land and pipeline leaks.

With us, you will have a varied and responsible job where you contribute to developing both the operations and cooperation internally and externally. With your experience in operational and construction work, you will be a support for supervisors and other managers within the technical office.

We are looking for someone who:

has a technical education or other relevant education
has good knowledge of operational and construction work, including machinery knowledge
has experience in leadership and preferably training in the area
is a confident and communicative leader who can make decisions and motivate others
works methodically, has a quality-conscious approach, and is solution-focused

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a technical education or other education that we consider relevant. You have good knowledge of operational and construction work with machinery knowledge.
We would like you to have training in leadership or relevant experience.
Driver's license B.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
