About Us
The Radiological Support Group (NSRS) at Ringhals provides specialist and key competence in areas such as medical physics, radiochemistry, dosimetry, and radiation protection. We work on issues that concern the entire Ringhals organization, both in operations and decommissioning. We handle regulatory matters in the field and participate in both national and international collaborative forums. We staff and constitute an essential part of the Radiation Protection Expert function at Ringhals, a function required by the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority, consisting of employees approved by the authority.
We also teach and are responsible for training in radiation protection and radiology and are part of Ringhals's emergency preparedness organization, where we are responsible for staffing and training various radiology roles.

About the Job
As a Medical Physicist at NSRS, you will engage in practical, analytical, strategic, and administrative tasks that may span multiple areas; emissions monitoring and emissions analysis, environmental radiology and personal dosimetry, radiation shielding calculations and source term assessments, qualified nuclide-specific measurements, analysis and reporting of radioactive substances in reactor systems or execution, analysis, and quality assurance in waste and clearance measurements.
As a qualified Medical Physicist, the area of responsibility mainly consists of analytical and strategic tasks within the areas of operation. Reviewing, commenting, interpreting, and implementing external requirements and regulations is an important part of the work, where tasks involving control and ensuring correct application in Ringhals's operations are included. As a qualified Medical Physicist, there is a requirement for the ability to lead, make strategic decisions, and implement these in the operations.
Your Responsibilities:
As a Medical Physicist/qualified Medical Physicist at NSRS, you may work with:
- Emissions monitoring and emissions analysis
- Skin and internal dose calculations
- Detector technology, measurement technology, and measurement methodology
- Qualified nuclide-specific measurements, nuclide inventories, and application of nuclide vectors, for example, in emissions monitoring, internal dosimetry, clearance, or radiological mapping
- Operational development, requirement interpretation, and implementation of requirements and regulations
- Regulatory reporting
- Regulatory inspections and WANO reviews
- Teaching and developing educational materials
- Radiation shielding calculations and source term assessments
- Emergency preparedness issues within radiology and radiation protection
Requirements Specification
About You
We are looking for someone with an education in hospital physics or a master's, master's, or doctoral degree in physics with a focus on nuclear physics/radiation physics. Experience from the nuclear power industry is an advantage. We see it as a significant plus if you have practical and analytical experience in gamma spectrometry, have worked with interpreting requirements from, for example, the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority, and have experience in other analytical tasks related to radiation safety. For the position of qualified Medical Physicist, several years of experience and work in the role of Medical Physicist, hospital physicist, or equivalent is required.
Since you will be working in a Swedish context, it is essential that you speak and write fluently in Swedish. You should also have very good knowledge of English. A driving license (B) is a requirement.

You work well with complex issues, have the ability to analyze and break them down into their components, and solve complicated problems.
