Production Leaders at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and adding on, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.

The Gävle operational area includes the closed prison Gävle, the open prison Gruvberget, and the remand facility Bomhus. 160 employees work in the operation, which accommodates just over 200 inmates. Our operations run around the clock, and the largest professional group is prison officers, supported by over ten other positions to ensure our mission. In the prisons Gävle and Gruvberget, inmates are engaged in education, other structured activities, treatment programs, self-management, or work operations primarily consisting of carpentry production. You can easily reach the prison and remand facility in Bomhus by public transport, while access to a car is required for the prison Gruvberget. Staff parking is available.

Gruvberget is an open prison in the lowest security class. The prison has space for 60 clients and has around 40 employees. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a production leader, you will have direct contact with our clients in the prison's production. In your daily interactions with the inmates, your work will contribute to the clients' learning and also encourage them to reflect on their situation. You will also work with scheduling, attendance controls, and some safety work concerning the clients. In your role, you will be involved in the clients' planning for release, which includes documentation and collaboration with other functions and roles in client work.

After the introduction, you as a production leader will be responsible for the daily operations. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for production planning, task distribution, and ensuring that our deliveries are made on time. You will also participate in the production work yourself.

The employment at Gruvberget consists of wood processing at various stages and property maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and self-aware. You find it easy to collaborate with others and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You have the ability to make correct assessments and priorities. You have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient's conditions. You should also have a physical condition that allows you to act physically if the situation requires it.

To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. To be eligible for the position, you need to have completed upper secondary school with a diploma or secondary school certificate. You have a B driver's license and can speak fluent Swedish. We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Experience and/or education in woodwork
• Work experience in invoicing
• Work experience in a supervisory role
• Work experience in any of the following areas: Customer service, pedagogy, motivational work, property maintenance, corrections, security work, social care, psychiatry, or health and care work.
