Your mission as a Road Worker

In the role of a road worker, your main task will be operations and maintenance-related duties such as inspecting the road network in the area, reporting any deficiencies, and subsequently addressing them, as well as maintaining the road during summer and winter. During winter, the focus of operations is on snow plowing, snow removal, and ice prevention. In addition, you will work on smaller construction tasks, sign adjustments, repairing guardrails, and TMA driving. The position includes summer and winter readiness, with the responsibility to call out snow plowing and ice prevention units, even at night. During readiness, you will take on a leading role and manage the work and communication with Svevia's subcontractors. In this role, you will be supported by close management and engaged colleagues. You see using digital tools daily to document your work as a given. The position is a permanent full-time employment that starts with a 6-month probationary period.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has:

• Experience in road operations and maintenance
• Good computer skills
• Class C and B driver's licenses
• Good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written; YKB is an advantage.

We believe you are a self-driven person who can make independent decisions, as you are creatively inclined with a solution-focused mindset. You are driven by challenges and motivated to achieve set goals. You enjoy having your own responsibilities and tasks with a high degree of freedom. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills with both internal and external colleagues.

Svevia is currently Sweden's largest road maintenance contractor. In operations and maintenance, we manage summer and winter road maintenance for half of the state road network. Many municipalities, private companies, and road associations hire us to take care of their roads and outdoor environments.
