The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand centers, and client transport.

The Gävle area includes the closed prison Gävle, the open prison Gruvberget, and the remand center Bomhus. 160 employees work in the operation, which accommodates just over 200 inmates. Our operations run around the clock, and the largest professional group is prison officers, with support from over ten other positions to ensure our mission. In the Gävle and Gruvberget prisons, inmates are engaged in education, other structured activities, treatment programs, self-management, or in work operations primarily consisting of carpentry production. You can easily reach the prison and remand center in Bomhus by public transport; access to a car is required for the Gruvberget prison. Staff parking is available.

In preparation for summer 2025, we are looking for a production leader focused on wood. The position is a summer temporary position, with good chances for extension and/or hourly work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a production leader, you will have direct contact with our clients in the prison's production. In your daily contact with the inmates, your work will contribute to the clients' learning but also to the clients reflecting on their situation. You will also work with scheduling, attendance checks, and some safety work regarding the clients. In your work, you will also be involved in the clients' planning for release; you will need to document and collaborate with other functions and roles in client work.

After the introduction, you as a production leader will be responsible for the daily operations. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for production planning, task distribution, and ensuring that our deliveries occur on time. You will also participate in the production work yourself.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You find it easy to collaborate with others and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You have the ability to make correct assessments and priorities. You have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient's conditions. You should also have a physical condition that allows you to act physically if the situation requires it.

To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. To be considered for the position, you need to have completed upper secondary school with a diploma or equivalent. You must have a B driver's license and be fluent in Swedish. We consider it meritorious if you have:

• Experience and/or education in wood
• Work experience in invoicing
• Work experience in a supervisory role
• Work experience in any of the following areas: Customer service, corrections, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare and social work.
