Fresh Opinion Polls from Verian: The Social Democrats and the Left Party Strengthen Their Positions

Verian has released its latest opinion poll today, and the figures show interesting movements in the political arena in Sweden. It is clear that both the Left Party and the Social Democrats have managed to strengthen their positions, while the Sweden Democrats see a continued decline.

The Social Democrats and the Left Party on the Rise

The Social Democrats have now increased to 33.00%, a small but noticeable increase from the previous 32.70%. This trend of steady growth has been constant over the past few months, where the party in previous surveys, such as Novus on August 28, was noted at 34.20%.

The Left Party has also made a remarkable increase to 8.70% from 8.10% in the latest Verian survey. This rise is in line with previous measurements, where Sentio in July noted the party at 9.20%. It seems that the Left Party's message continues to resonate well with a portion of the voters.

The Green Party and the Center Party Stabilize

The Green Party stands at 6.00%, a marginal decline from previously 6.10%. Despite small variations, the party has managed to stay above 6% in most surveys, which may indicate a stabilized voter base.

The Center Party shows a small increase to 5.00% from 4.90%. This stability can be seen as positive considering that the party earlier this year was at 4.50% according to SCB's measurement in June.

The Liberals and the Christian Democrats: Minor Changes

The Liberals have seen an increase to 3.20% from 2.90%. Despite this rise, the party still remains below the parliamentary threshold, which could be worrying for the party's future in the parliament.

The Christian Democrats, on the other hand, have decreased slightly to 3.20% from 3.60%. This is a continuation of a downward trend that can be seen in several surveys, where the party seldom reaches over 4%.

The Moderates and the Sweden Democrats: Mixed Results

The Moderates have marginally increased to 20.30% from 20.00%. Despite this small increase, the party has had difficulties regaining the strength they showed earlier in the year, as in Ipsos' measurement in April where they reached 20.50%.

The Sweden Democrats continue their decline and now stand at 18.70%, a decrease from 19.90% in the previous Verian survey. This is a significant change compared to earlier this year, where the party in some measurements reached over 20%, as in Sentio's survey in July with 20.80%.

Summary

The latest survey from Verian shows that the big winners are the Social Democrats and the Left Party, while the Sweden Democrats continue to lose ground. The smaller parties such as the Liberals and the Christian Democrats are still struggling to reach over the parliamentary threshold, which could lead to an interesting dynamic ahead of upcoming elections.
