We at Wallenius Marine are now looking for a Chief Officer for the vessel Thuleland.

Thuleland is a RoRo vessel that is part of the WalleniusSOL operating unit and operates mainly in the North Sea.

About the role

The role of Chief Officer on board Thuleland is developmental, varied, and fast-paced. You will work closely with the other deck officers and be responsible for ensuring that safety, efficiency, and quality are pursued on board. As the second-in-command after the Captain, you will be crucial for the vessel as a whole and its daily operations.

Examples of tasks in the role:

• Responsibility for the deck crew and daily work on board
• Plan and supervise loading, unloading, and cargo securing
• Responsible for the vessel's safety, life-saving, and fire-fighting equipment
• Keep navigational watch and assist the Captain
• Ensure that regulations, procedures, and safety requirements are followed

On board Thuleland, both Filipino and Swedish crews work. As we have a mixed crew, English is spoken on board.

Conditions

• The position is a permanent employment, starting with a standard probationary period
• Rotation: approx. 4 weeks (1:1 system)
• European Agreement. Swedish flag
• Start date by agreement. The position may be filled before the application deadline

Requirements

Requirements for the position are:

• Qualification as Chief Officer
• Valid certificates and documents for the position in accordance with STCW Manila
• Good knowledge of English – ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing

Merits and personal qualities

It is an advantage if you:

• Have previous experience from similar RoRo vessels
• Have work experience in the role of Chief Officer previously
