Sales Manager, Fresh Food

Do you want to lead an engaged team and develop our fresh food department with the customer at the center? We are looking for a business-driven and inspiring Sales Manager, Fresh Food, who wants to take overall responsibility for our fresh food operations and contribute to the store's continued development.

About the role

As Sales Manager, Fresh Food, you are responsible for planning, leading, and developing the fresh food department – both strategically and operationally. You have overall responsibility for operations, sales, and profitability within the departments of charcuterie, cheese, meat, delicatessen, and fish.

You lead and develop your team through a present and coaching leadership style, creating engagement, clarity, and involvement.

You have personnel responsibility for the department and are responsible for monitoring key figures, sales, shrinkage, self-control, and set goals.

Your team consists of approximately 20 dedicated employees, where five sales leaders are responsible for their respective areas within the fresh food department. Together, you create structure, development, and a strong customer experience through close collaboration in daily operations.

As part of the store's management team, you report to the Store Manager and are involved in planning the business forward, setting goals, and driving the store's development.

You are a visible and proactive leader in daily operations who sees opportunities, takes initiative, and creates the conditions for an inspiring fresh food department. With the customer in focus, you lead the team toward the store's most important goal – creating the best customer meeting. You ensure that the department is attractive, well-stocked, and sales-oriented, and that employees have the right conditions to provide our customers with a top-class service experience.

The role includes, among other things:

• Leading, coaching, and developing the team in the fresh food department.
• Being responsible for personnel, operations, sales, and profitability.
• Monitoring key figures and ensuring the department reaches its goals.
• Actively working with assortment, display, campaigns, and customer experience.
• Ensuring quality within HACCP, self-control, and food hygiene.
• Identifying business opportunities through customer feedback, sales data, and environmental monitoring.

Your background

We are looking for you who have experience from the grocery retail industry in a leadership role. You are a confident and engaged leader with a strong business focus and a genuine interest in people, food, and sales.

You are driven by developing the business and your team and have the ability to create engagement through clarity, involvement, and a coaching leadership style. You work proactively, see opportunities, and take responsibility for creating results and satisfied customers.

We would like you to have:

• Experience of leadership and personnel responsibility.
• Good understanding of sales, profitability, and key figures.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize in a varied daily life.
• Knowledge within HACCP, self-control, and food hygiene.
• It is meritorious if you have completed some form of store manager training or other leadership training within retail.

As a leader, you are a role model who inspires your team to always take that little extra step – for the customer, the department, and the business.
