to apply for the job
Make a difference. Every day.
Are you interested in neurology and want to work with diseases of the brain and nervous system? Then you are warmly welcome to apply to our clinic!
The Neurology Clinic in Lund is a large specialist clinic, and our diagnostic groups include MS, epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases, Parkinson's, brain tumors, ALS, and Huntington's disease. The operations are based on teamwork between different professions. The nurses working here at the clinic have different team affiliations and become experts in their respective areas. In addition to the clinic, there is a large neurology ward where national highly specialized care is provided in several areas. We at the clinic have close cooperation regarding our shared patients, which provides opportunities for continuity and broad professional development.
This competence is shared with colleagues within the neurology inpatient department through good cooperation across care levels. Development in neurological treatment is advancing rapidly, and significant research is conducted in neurology at Skåne University Hospital (Sus). New guidelines are being developed both nationally and locally.
Region Skåne is investing in increased competence development for nurses. Within the neurology area, internal competence development is already conducted through recurring training in our various diagnostic areas. At the same time, we have started work to further structure and strengthen competence development within the operations. We also participate in the Competence and Service Model (KTM), which will give nurses a clearer and more long-term career path within the profession.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse at the Neurology Clinic, you have an independent and varied role with responsibility for your own clinic, where you plan, conduct, and follow up on patient visits. You also provide qualified telephone advice to patients and relatives. The role involves independent assessments, prioritizations, and nursing interventions based on the patient's needs, while also contributing to the development of the operations and the quality of care.
You work in close cooperation with doctors and rehabilitation staff, and collaborate with primary care, the municipality, and other healthcare providers. At the clinic, there is a treatment unit where patients with various neurological diagnoses receive regular medication treatment. We also have a day care unit that receives patients with more acute needs for rapid assessment and investigation. In addition to each team being responsible for their own telephone advice, the clinic also has a joint advice phone that needs to be staffed. You will belong to one of our teams and simultaneously be part of one of these units – the treatment unit, day care, and/or the advice service.
The position also includes weekend duty at the neurology ward according to Sus guidelines effective from December 2025. This means you will work at least two weekend shifts during a five-week period within the same department, location, and specialty.
