ABOUT US

Göteborg City Mission's Food Centre is a warehouse and logistics operation that receives large volumes of food that would otherwise be thrown away. The food is donated primarily from the food industry, often due to short shelf life, expired items, damaged packaging, or mislabeling. We then distribute this food to people facing social and economic hardship, as well as to our own operations where we prepare hundreds of meals every day.

At the Food Centre, we also offer work training for people who are outside the labor market. Participants have the opportunity to train in a warehouse environment and gain experience in tasks that match today's labor market needs. We save approximately 500 tons of food annually and have about 20-25 trainees with us.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We at the Food Centre are now looking for an engaged employee for warehouse and transport to join our team in Mölndal.

In this role, you are responsible for a variety of tasks within the warehouse operations. You will receive and check incoming deliveries, unpack and sort goods, pick and pack orders, prepare outgoing deliveries, conduct inventories, and help keep the warehouse well-organized and clean. Since we handle grocery, refrigerated, and frozen goods, we work daily in different temperature zones.

The position consists mainly of warehouse work, but also includes forklift driving and picking up and delivering goods with a light truck. Therefore, both a forklift license and a B-driver's license are required, as well as experience driving.

We use a digital warehouse management system to receive orders and register incoming and outgoing goods. You must therefore feel comfortable working in digital systems. Since the job also involves reading instructions, handling orders, and communicating with colleagues, you need good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.

An important part of the role is also to mentor and work together with people undergoing work training with us. You will introduce, support, and encourage the participants in their daily tasks and contribute to an inclusive and developmental work environment.

• Have good communication skills and express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
• Are positive, humble, and enjoy meeting people with different backgrounds and experiences.
• Have basic digital competence and feel comfortable working in various IT systems.

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

• Warehouse work, including packing and picking.
• Work in a grocery store or other experience with food handling.
• Transport and logistics.
• Digital warehouse and/or retail systems.
• Mentoring, introducing, or training others.

Requirements for the position

• At least one year of experience in warehouse, food, and/or transport work.
• B-driver's license and experience driving a light truck.
• Forklift license and experience operating a forklift.
