Do you have experience working as a driver, good local knowledge of central Stockholm, and the ability to drive at all hours of the day and night? Are you also service-oriented, possess high integrity, and have the ability to create a sense of security? Then this might be the job for you.
The Transport Section at the General Staff Headquarters is now looking for several protective drivers who wish to be a vital part of the Swedish Armed Forces' passenger transport operations.
Main Responsibilities
In the role of a protective driver, you are responsible for the planning, execution, and follow-up of transports where high demands are placed on safety, flexibility, and sound judgment. The work involves transporting people in various environments and situations in a safe, professional, and discreet manner. The role requires good local knowledge, particularly within the Stockholm area, and the ability to drive at all hours.
You plan and prepare routes taking into account the risk profile, traffic conditions, and current circumstances. You are responsible for handling vehicles in a responsible and proactive manner, which includes daily supervision, care, and maintenance of vehicles and associated equipment. In this role, you work closely with other security personnel and adhere to established procedures and safety regulations.
Transport assignments vary in scope and duration. Therefore, you must be prepared for both short and long transports. Some assignments may also involve travel with overnight stays, meaning you will be away from home for several days.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Category B driver's license
- Completed upper secondary education
- Current and relevant experience working as a driver
- Good communication skills in both Swedish and English

Merits

Other Information
The position is civilian and located at the General Staff Headquarters in Stockholm.
Start date: By agreement
Employment type: Permanent full-time position, starting with a 6-month probationary period for applicants not currently employed by the Swedish Armed Forces.
Working Hours: Two-week rolling schedule, Sun-Thu. Week 1: 05:30 – 14:30 / Week 2: 15:00 – 23:00.
A driving test with a passing result and a passed security clearance are required before employment can commence.

Information about the recruiting unit: The Commander-in-Chief and the Director General are located at the General Staff Headquarters. The Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, the Headquarters consists of the Defence Staff, the Operations Command, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters Staff Department and independent supervision units. An employment with us entails placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. A security clearance with background check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be war-placed. The employment also includes an obligation to serve abroad. The meaning of this varies depending on the type of position. A CV and personal letter must be attached to the application for employment.
